About Us
A little about my life’s adventure….
On hot sunny mornings as a child, I remember racing out the door with my brothers and sisters. We’d be playing outside, then riding our bikes hard and fast around the streets, then to our favourite spots to build cubbies and play army. Later we’d be at the beach having a swim followed by a BBQ dinner. Nature was our playground.
At a young age, I received my first camera and I loved taking photos of my family. I’d bask in the delight of going to the local shops to have the photos developed and then organise them into an album with Mum. We loved looking at the photos together and would often laugh and talk about special moments.
We mark time with milestones and revel in the extraordinary: births, anniversaries and achievements. From the spectacular to the life-altering and memorable. When my adventure-seeking, nature-adoring brother passed, his gestures and our shared adventures played in my mind like an old movie reel, they still do. I desperately wanted to savour every moment we shared. Our Adventure Journals was soon born.
We are living in a day and age where cherished memories are a moment in time, embedded in our memory or luckily captured on a phone or saved to a cloud.
My eyes glisten at the small things. In the quiet moments, listening to the subtle sounds in nature, watching my three children explore, imagine and play. The painted pink stripes of a pre-dawn sky; a fun game of UNO with the family. These tender occurrences, exquisitely unplanned, are among an endless list of little moments that move me. The ones I want to cherish, capture and reminisce on for the years to come.
My hope is that Our Adventure Journals becomes a treasured keepsake in your life, bringing your family joy as you fill it, together, with your own writings, photographs and special pieces. May ‘Our Adventure Journals' hold a special place in your family's heart and home.
